Summary: Since 1930 the annual communications of the Cairo Division have been providing an international platform for papers on Egyptian archaeology and cultural history. The topics treated cover a time span from the pre-dynastic period through the Christian era and up until the Islamic period. Besides the emphasis on archaeology and the publication of the latest results of excavations by international consortia, topics from art history and cultural history to topical questions and research are discussed. In addition, reports on the current excavations of the Cairo Division are presented regularly, supported by copious pictorial material.
