By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextPublisher: Washington, DC: Georgetown University Press, 2018Description: 47 p., 30 cmISBN:
  • 9781626165687
Subject(s):
Contents:
Introduction -- Exercises -- The Arabic alphabet -- Answer key and glossary.
Summary: Learning how to write in a new script, from right to left, is an important task for beginning Arabic learners. While most beginning textbooks integrate this skill practice into the lessons, some students need or desire additional practice. Further, students outside of a classroom who do not receive regular feedback may need additional practice. Barbara Romaine developed a small handwriting practice workbook that combines tracing of letters and words with listening, which builds and strengthens students' reading and comprehension. This short, twenty-page workbook includes handwritten words for students to trace on tracing paper, which is bound into the book. The workbook is brief and practical and provides learners with something that is available for other languages but not for adult learners of Arabic. Audio of the words will be freely available on our website (downloadable MP3s) so that students can practice writing and listening simultaneously, further building their skills.
